With the goal of education of the young people in the field of human rights, the project “Let's build future respecting each other“ included activities on the human rights protection, introduction of democratic standards and re-establishment of mutual confidence among citizens as a modest contribution to the process of integration and achievement of the aims of the stability pact for Southeast Europe.
Project objectives are to facilitate intercultural learning, education for human rights, tolerance and democratic citizenship; strengthening the inter-ethnic integration and promotion of mutual acquaintance and peaceful co-existence between minorities and the majority through the dialogue in the field of human rights and to provide opportunities for people from different communities to work together towards a common objective.
Within the framework of the project, Training of the Trainers for Human Rights was organized for 20 high school pupils and NGO members from Bitola, Prilep and Demir Hisar. The final goal is to raise awareness for human rights by the target group, all of them to take an active part in the promotion and protection of human rights as well as in the prevention of their violation.
Meetings were also organized with representatives of local institutions (Local government, Regional Union Council, local media..) as a source of new initiatives and way of animating the local stakeholders to be more actively engaged in the affirmation and protection of the human rights. In the last phase of the project human rights workshops in primary and high schools were organized as feedback of the training of the trainers. The project was supported by the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje and the local government of Bitola.
